WHY SHOE BOXES?
In 2009, I attended a Samaritan's Purse disaster relief training with my husband, Bob. On the trip we toured the OCC warehouse in Boone, NC and saw how the program brings hope to lost children around the world. They are taught that Jesus loves them and someone far, far away loves them enough to send them a Christmas gift. God called me to serve and that's where my passion began.
Operation Christmas Child is a Christian program through Samaritan's Purse that sends shoe boxes filled with gifts to children world wide. For some, it's the only Christmas present they've ever received and they cherish the gifts inside as well as the decorated box.

One of the best examples of God's desire for His people to help others is the story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37). Samaritan's Purse is an organization that puts this verse to action by offering disaster relief to those in need all while sharing God's love.
